Why yours probably lasts longer than that
Those hours are a floor rather than a forecast. The rated figure is a maximum under the federal test condition, and a real basement is usually cooler and less humid than that test, so a unit keeping up with a space is extracting well under its rating. A dehumidifier that has brought a basement to a stable humidity and is cycling on and off will go considerably longer on the same tank than it did during its first week. How much longer depends entirely on the space, and is not something we can put a number on.
This is also the useful diagnostic hidden in the bucket. A tank that keeps filling at the pace of the arithmetic above, weeks after the unit went in, is telling you the space is actively wet rather than merely humid: a drain, a grade problem, an unsealed crawl space. The answer nobody searches for: stop using the bucket
