How we choose products

Every recommendation on Size My Air follows the same process.

1. We start from the question, not the product

We write about specific situations — a particular size, a particular constraint, a particular failure mode. The recommendation set is whatever genuinely fits that situation, which is often three or four products rather than ten.

2. We define the criteria before looking at products

For each category we decide which attributes actually change the outcome for the reader, and why. Those criteria are published on the page. If a criterion cannot be checked against documented product data, we leave it out rather than guess.

3. We check specifications against primary sources

Product attributes come from manufacturer documentation, published standards, and structured product data. Where a claim comes from a specific source, we cite it and note what the source supports.

4. We state the limits of what we know

We do not have every product in front of us. When a spec is unpublished, ambiguous, or inconsistent between sources, the page says so instead of filling the gap.

5. We say who should not buy

Every recommendation names the reader it is wrong for. A product that suits a beginner often does not suit someone experienced, and pretending otherwise wastes people's money.

6. We revisit

Pages are reviewed when products go out of stock, when specifications change, and on a regular schedule. The review date is shown on each page.

What does not influence a recommendation

Commission rate, merchant relationship, and product price do not affect whether a product is recommended or where it ranks. Where the same product is available from several retailers, we may link to whichever is in stock.
